Fall Second Hour: Adult
Christian Education
Beginning next Sunday, September 20, our Second Hour will begin a new
four-week series, What Is the Church For?
Over four Sundays, we will explore this question from several angles. We
will begin with Scripture and the identity and calling of God s people, listen
to how Christians across time and place have understood the church, consider
some of the theological convictions that have shaped Christian thinking about
the church, and conclude by reflecting together on what faithful life as the
church might look like today.
The aim is not to develop a new church program or strategic plan, but to
create space for careful listening, thoughtful reflection, and shared
discernment about who we are called to be as the church.
I am currently finalizing facilitators who will guide each of the four
sessions.
