Give

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Valleyview Mennonite Church is Registered Canadian Charity - Registration no.: 119280980 RR 0001

What are my giving dollars used for?

Your gifts are used to provide pastoral ministry and community outreach of the church community. We do this through our weekend services for adults and kids, and through our support of local and world wide missions.  We can accomplish more together then separate.

Does your church have a budget?
Yes. Our budget each year is determined based on the goals and objectives of each ministry area (Reaching Out, Worship, Connection & Caring and Christian Formation) within the church and approved by our members at the Annual General Meeting.   All gifts to the General Fund are used to meet the needs of this budget and allocated to the areas with the most need and impact.
What payment method options can I choose from?
We accept credit & debit card payments through PayPal.   Monthly pre-authorized scheduled withdrawals from your chequing account are available by registering for a PAD/EFT with the church treasurer.   Interac e-transfers are also accepted by sending an e-transfer  to treasurer@valleyviewmc.ca

How do I participate in the weekend offering if I use the automated giving program?
If you wish, you can still participate in the weekend offering by dropping an empty envelope labeled "I Give On-line" into the basket.
How can I get a record of my giving?
You can view your giving statement from the church at any time by registering and logging in to this website.  The Giving History and Tax Receipt menu options will only display when you are logged in.
How do I update my bank account or monthly PAD information?
Send an email with the required updates to treasurer@valleyviewmc.ca

How do I donate securities?
One of the benefits of donating securities is that the donor avoids paying capital gains tax in selling the security and receives a full tax receipt for the value of the security and Valleyview Mennonite Church receives the proceeds from selling the security minus any transaction fees.

As part of Valleyview’s paid membership with the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities, a service to complete this transaction is easily completed using the Community Trust Fund (CTF) https://www.cccc.org/cccc-ctf-donor. This service is provided to make it simple for churches to complete this transaction. On Valleyview’s behalf CTF will handle the paperwork, security transfer and sale, issue the receipt and ensure the proceeds are remitted to Valleyview Mennonite Church.

Abundance Canada http://abundance.ca is also available to handle this type of transaction for you.

Valleyview  Mennonite Church encourages you to consider both options when discussing with your advisors.
