        Don T invites you to join him as he leads a morning bird sighting and nature walk, leaving from the Watson Porter Pavilion. Bring binoculars!

What to Expect and Bring:

 

Free Entry: Do not pay at the entrance gate.

Inform the park gate you are visiting as a member of Valleyview Mennonite Church. A discounted rate of $12 per vehicle park entry fee will be covered by the church.

 

Location & Parking: Watson Porter Pavilion.

Follow the signs - cross over the dam, past the Pioneer Village, and park in the lot (grassy area) to the left of the road under the tall evergreen trees. The gate entrance to the Watson Porter Pavilion will be on the right. Please leave the area immediately in front of the pavilion for accessible parking only.

 

What to Bring: 

        Lawn Chairs / Blankets 

        Weather Appropriate Clothing, Sunscreen & Bug Spray

        Picnic Potluck food to share (Peanut Free, Sesame Free) with serving dish and utensil

        Your own Dishes, Cutlery, Water Bottles or Drink Cups

o   Water Refill Station is provided 

o   Label your dish with your name.

        Activities:

o   Outdoor: frisbee, soccer ball, bocce, etc

o   Indoor: board games or crokinole, etc

        Tim s Craft Request: Bring your hammer!

 

Canoes/Kayaks:

Consider bringing your own PFDs or joining Chris M, who will bring his 2 canoes and some lifejackets for the mid-afternoon. Those interested in renting a canoe or kayak from the park, visit this link for more information: https://www.fanshaweconservationarea.ca/fishingandboating

Worship Preview

April June 2026

 

Continuing on with the worship series prior to Lent, our April worship services will focus on the Sermon of the Mount. For four Sundays in May & June, we will hear about unity in conflict. Various Biblical texts will be used to show how important it is to address conflicts and then find a healthy way to deal with them. June will include our annual Fanshawe service followed by a potluck picnic and afternoon activities, and a Sunday to honour our indigenous neighbours and friends.

Valleyview is a scent-free zone as many participants have strong reactions to scented products. Please refrain from using all scented products: cologne, perfume, hairspray, hand and body lotion.
