This next week, we welcome Elections Canada to our space Monday, April 28th with polls open 9:30am 9:30pm. The basement main hall will be closed to church program use and member access this entire day.

All are welcome to attend this open group. March's Sunday Lunch Bunch will be hosted by Ken & Carol D. Drinks will be supplied. Please bring own dishes and a potluck item to share. See email dated April 19th or this week s printed bulletin for address details.

Tuesday, April 29

5:30-8:00pm: The Art in Recovery Recreation Group (Basement Main Hall)
A free art and recreation group meeting once per month for people in the recovery/recovering stages of addiction (whether substance or process). Our next Thursday evening Bible study will take place Thursday, May 8.

The Scripture you are asked to read is the story of the Samaritan woman at the well from John 4:1-42.

I will send out a Zoom link that week. We meet from 7-8pm and all are welcome to join.

 

Saturday, May 10

3:30pm - Intergenerational Gathering at Valleyview

Activities:

1.     3:30pm Hike through Kilally Woods along north shore of Thames River. We will meet by the Dan Pulham Field at the far east end of Windemere Road - off Adelaide - and begin our hike from this point. (one hour)

2.     5:00pm Dinner at the church: Wiener roast and Ice Cream Sundaes  free-will offering will be collected to help cover the cost of the meal

3.     6:00pm Intergenerational table games 

 

Saturday, May 31

7:30pm - Valleyview Male Chorus 29th Annual Spring Concert

Location: First Baptist Church, 568 Richmond Street in London.  The program will consist of a range of songs sung by male voices including songs of faith, spirituals, meditative numbers, folk songs and contemporary music, all with the goal of inspiring hope, faith and joy in the listener.  All are welcome to this Annual event. Tickets $20 at the door.

1.   On the Journey is a space to share stories and learn from each other as we reflect on our responses to the Truth and Reconciliation 94 Calls to Action. Submit your stories or questions to MCEC Truth & Reconciliation Working Group at trwg@mcec.ca.

2.   Lunch Hour with the MCEC Executive Minister, May 16, noon to 1 p.m. Online. Join us on Zoom for a midday conversation with Anthony Siegrist! This is a space to bring your questions, share your voice and energize one another for the work of God's reconciling ministry. This session Professor Drew Strait from AMBS will explore the timely and challenging topic of Christian nationalism. More information and to register.

3.   Climate Action and Indigenous Relations Workshop - What does the Lord require of us? - July 2, 2025, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, Kitchener. How might we link arms as an intercultural church in our shared ministries of restoration? Explore the biblical and spiritual call to collectively "love mercy, do justice and walk humbly with our God." More information and to register for this MC Canada Pre-Gathering Event.

Scent-Free Zone: Severe Scent Allergy

Valleyview is a scent-free zone as many participants have strong reactions to scented products. Please refrain from using all scented products: cologne, perfume, hairspray, hand and body lotion.

No Peanuts: Allergy Alert

Some members in attendance experience serious peanut allergy. Please refrain from bringing, eating, or serving any food labelled as containing peanuts or with warning May contain peanuts .
